H.E. Khöndung Gyana Vajra Rinpoche

He is the younger son of H.H. Sakya Trizin, he is born the 5th of July 1979 in Dehra Dun, Uttarpradesh, India. During his younger years, together with his elder brother, H.E. Khöndung Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, His Eminence studied religious texts, literature, writing, grammar, memorizing of important prayers and rituals with the supervision of Ven. Rinchen Sangpo.

H.E. then started his studies at Sakya Centre, the most important monastery and the seat of H.H. Sakya Trizin, were he learned all the basic prayers and rituals. After having completed his studies at Sakya Centre he started at Sakya College, developing his studies in Buddhist philosophy during five years. During this period, he often participated in the religious ceremonies that are celebrated every year at Sakya Centre. He ha salso received many mayor empowerments, common and non-common teachings from H.H. Sakya Trizin.

In all he received decades ofrigorous training from H.H. Sakya Trizin himself, as from many other Lamas like H.E. Chogye Trichen Rinpoche, H.E. Luding Khen Rinpoche, Khenpo Appey Rinpoche e Khenpo Migmar Rinpoche. H.E. has accompanied H.H. Sakya Trizin in many of his Teaching-tours, in India and abroad. Some years ago he left his monastic robes and married Dagmo Sonam Palkyi the 21st April 2008, they have two children.
