The Sakya Ngon Ga Ling Retreat House in Castello di Cireglio (Pistoia)

offers many initiatives that are part of the activities of the Sakya Ngon Ga Ling Center, integrating with the program of the main office of the Dharma Center in Tresanti, Montespertoli. The Retreat House program is open to all interested people.

In addition to meetings on Philosophy and Yoga and Meditation courses, the most important activity of the Retreat House is the organization of "Thun", short sessions of Buddhist practice, individual or in small groups (maximum 5-6 people) to deepen specific aspects or particular practices of Tibetan Buddhism related to the Sakya School. Sessions usually last 48 hours (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) and are residential or semi-residential. Participation in ritual practices can be reserved for those who have received the necessary initiations from a Sakya master (with the exception of retreats related to Ngon-dro, the preliminary practices, which can be done without specific initiations). Participants are asked for a free offer which is used to maintain the activity of the center.

For information you can call 347-3460064 (when we do the practices and meditations the phone is not active).

Meditation courses are held throughout the year, divided into three successive levels, of which the first deals with the meditation of calm (samatha) and the second and third with the meditation of introspective vision (vipassana). The course follows an ancient text of the 17th century written by the XI Karmapa Wangchuk Dorje, as taught by Khenchen Thrangku Rimpoche, an illustrious Kagyu-pa master who passed on the method to his Western disciples. The course takes place on a monthly basis on Tuesdays. But for those who live far from the center, intensive seminars can also be organized that combine lessons on weekends.

For those who have attended at least the first Samatha Meditation course, Applied Vipassana Meditation meetings are also offered during which problems (or "obstacles", in Sanskrit klesa ) are faced.

In addition there are weekly Yoga courses (evening hours, see the program or contact Bert d'Arragon).

In the winter months the meetings " A Tea with the Buddha " are also held: from 3.30 pm onwards we meet to talk, over a good tea and some biscuits, about Buddhist Philosophy, starting from the basics.

The meetings are open to all, with free offer, giving opportunities for reflection for beginners and for deepening for those who are already an expert practitioner.

In addition there are weekly Yoga courses (evening hours, see the program or contact Bert d'Arragon).

In the summer months, on the other hand, days of meditation and common practice are planned, even in the open air immersed in the nature of the Pistoia mountains. These meetings are open to everyone.
